Welcome

Welcome to Mrs. Medrano's Class
Hi, my name is Amber Medrano. I feel honored to have the opportunity to teach your child this year! I grew up in the Lutheran school system. I am a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran and Lutheran High school of St. Charles.  I feel extremely blessed to teach at a Lutheran school and share God’s love with the little ones here at Zion. I  earned my  teaching certificate and Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education at Missouri Baptist University. I also have my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Development and Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia.  I was a member of the track and cross country team there, so I am a huge MU Tiger fan! I believe children learn best when they are in a loving and nurturing environment. I also feel it is crucial to instill the idea that learning is fun with my students.  Children are super curious during the preschool years. They love exploring and discovering. I enjoy supporting a child’s growth by giving them engaging hands on activities that help them explore new concepts and ideas. It is one of my favorite things as a teacher to watch my students’ faces light up when they learn something new. My goal throughout the year is to provide your children with multiple learning opportunities that support the social, intellectual, personal and the spiritual development of each child in my classroom.
I am newly married to my husband Nick! We were married this June:)  Outside of the classroom you will find me doing anything outdoors, especially running and hiking. One more fun fact is I have a  twin sister who teaches kindergarten in the Lutheran School System. We have so much fun bouncing teaching ideas off one another. I'm extremely excited and honored to have the privilege to work with your child and get to know your family! It’s going to be a FUN filled year full of learning, exploration and discovery !
