Spring - and a fun Friday

Our Class Bean Plants

Friday at 8:00 am                              Friday at 3:00 pm
What will they look like on Monday?

As we walked to the "Big Kid" playground, we stopped by the playground tree to touch the leaves. They noticed a hole in a leaf. We are pretty sure a caterpillar ate the leaf.

During circle time, we played an I-Spy matching game.

Then we danced to the Maxarena and worked on our Ninja Training with with help of GoNoodle.

After all of that movement, they were exhausted and just needed to rest.
That didn't last long, however.

Another morning rest was necessary before our Jesus story about Jesus feeding the disciples breakfast.

Some happy boys!

Bird nest report
The nest is empty.
The gutter is empty.
But, there is a hole between the gutter and the roof.
It looks like the baby birds are safely hidden.

Spring - More Growth

We continue to be amazed by the growth of our bean plants.

Picture on left taken at 8:00 am;Picture on right taken at 3:00 pm
Can you see the difference?

On our way to the playground we noticed a nest sitting out of our reach sitting on a utility box.
The camera revealed that the nest was empty.
But some birds are very disturbed by our presence on the playground.
Is there a nest nearby somewhere else?
We will keep you posted.

During today's outside time some children picked clovers in the grass.

Following center time, Mrs. Lohman read the story of Jesus and the Breakfast. Because seventh and eighth graders were off campus, we ate lunch earlier and then played outside. The weather was beautiful.

Spring - Growth

Morning magna tile play

We loved dancing to one of our favorite GoNoodle songs, Milkshake.
We also danced to a new song today, Ninja Training. Fun!
We moved up a level and maxed out our champ!
Now we have a new champ!
This is big news!

We really can't believe how fast our bean seeds are growing!
This morning we measured the tallest one. It is 6 inches tall!
Mrs. Lohman pulled one of the plants out of the soil.
The children noticed the dirt was sticky. It was hard to see the roots.

Today the first group of children drew their last self portrait for this year.
They are looking at a picture of themselves and drawing their picture using a fine tip marker.

Also during center time, the beauty shop was open once again.

The children keep finding new treasures to create with in the creation area. Today they found craft sticks and butterfly designs to color.

During Jesus time, Mrs. Lohman retold the story of Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish. (John 21:1-14)

Spring - God's Amazing Creation

Our Tuesday started with chapel led by Pastor Reitz. He read 1 John 4:8, "God is love." He reminded us that because God is love, we love God, we love each other, and we take care of others.

After chapel we played on the Sonshine Center playground before going inside. The class broke into small groups.
This group was playing "crash the bikes."

These boys spied a June bug that intrigued them. I think it is still live.

The group on the right is listening to circle time led by their teacher.
The girls on the left are playing in the house.

Reading library books about butterflies and Fancy Nancy

During circle time, we observed the growth of our bean plants and watched in wonder what happens when something touches a venus fly trap.
(Thank you, Mrs. Horton for sharing it with us.)

During center time, more children practiced their cutting.
Once again, they worked hard to do their best.

Also happening during center time ....

Puzzle creations

And more puzzles

Our day ended with the heavy rain storm during nap.
We were grateful to be in a warm dry room.
