Three Little Pigs: Wednesday

This morning at free play we made houses like the three little pigs.

Our morning message today said that we were celebrating Kiera's birthday today!
We also discussed the importance of focusing our attention on the teacher or activity we are doing at preschool! When we focus we gain so much more information about what we are suppose to do.
We found a bag with an "attention-scope" to help remind us how to focus.

Each friend took a turn focusing on a friend and looking through the "attention-scope"

Enjoying the nice cool weather outside this morning!

Today we celebrated Kiera's Birthday. She will turn 5 tomorrow!

Thank you for sharing the yummy cookies.

Our calendar and meteorologist helper for the day!
Our meteorologist said it was a very cloudy and windy day.

We acted out the Three Little Pigs at circle time.

Here is our big bad wolf blowing down Pig #2's  house of sticks.
Pig #1 and Pig #2 ran to Pig#3's brick house.
The big bad wolf huffed and puffed but couldn't blow over the brick house.
He climbed on the roof and went down the chimney but the pigs put a pot of boiling water in the fireplace to keep them safe. The big bad wolf learned to never bother the three pigs again.
Group #2 acting out the story!
The big bad wolf asking, "Little Pig, little pig let me in !" Pig #1 saying, "Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!"

We acted out the story several times to make sure everyone got a turn to act out the story! Everyone did a great job with their parts as well as watching in the audience.

                                                                    Here is group #3 .

The big bad wolf said, "Little pig, little pig let me in."

Here is group #4 acting out the story!

Working on drawing mat man at centers time.
We also built mat man in the block area

We also discussed and drew a picture of our favorite part of the Three Little Pigs
Some of our favorite scenes included the pigs building their houses, the wolf falling into the pot of water and the pigs saying chinny chin, chin!

At Jesus time we discussed the story of Jacob. We talked about how Jacob lied and tricked his father. We also discussed how Jacob asked for forgiveness and was reminded that God is always with us no matter where we go. We then played a game with Zippy giving him a happy cheer when he showed kindness and a sad thumbs down when he lied or was unkind.

Three Little Pigs: Tuesday

                                                                        Morning Free Play
                                                               cutting in our cutting pool
Our friend wearing glass for the first time at school...doesn't he look handsome?!

Look at the tall tower we built! We worked really hard to not knock it over... this is a great example of using self regulation in the classroom.
At morning message we all whispered the message in a circle.

We made it through the whole circle with the same message! The morning message stated that God keeps us safe.

                                                                        Outside Fun
                                                          walking on the "balance beam"

Our calendar helper leading us in counting the 29 days of September...We are so close to a new month... Ask your child what month comes after September!
At circle we performed a science experiment about wind. We explored several objects and discussed whether the objects would or would not blow in the wind.

We then produced wind with the hairdryer and sorted the objects.

After we sorted the objects in a blows in the wind/or does not blow in the wind pile... we graphed the results.

We came to the conclusion that the objects that blew in the wind were light  while the objects that did not move in the wind were heavy .

At centers we built houses. We made sure to build sturdy houses like the brick house in the Three Little Pigs.
We made sure to build sturdy houses because after we were done building we tested whether the house would blow over in the wind or not move.

Acting out the three little pigs at centers with puppets!

We continued working on our Huff and Puff class book! We are each creating our own huff and puff page by painting a picture with our own air being blown from a straw.

We had fun building brick houses in the block area today also.

At Jesus time we learned about Esau and Jacob with a felt board. We learned that Jacob tricked his father Isaac into receiving a special blessing from his father even though his father thought he was giving the blessing to Esau. When Esau returned he was very upset. Jacob was afraid Esau would hurt him so he left home. We will discuss how God kept Jacob safe tomorrow.  Have a discussion with your child about how God keeps them safe tonight.
