Building a house with Christmas lights in the block area.

Light Table Fun

Working hard on writing and signing christmas cards for our loved ones.

Making "Christmas Cookies "with our play dough!

We enjoyed yet another beautiful day outside!

Practicing with Mrs. Mudd's class in the church for our Christmas program.

After returning from practicing our songs we acted out the Christmas story with props.
The angel Gabriel telling Mary she would have a baby who was God's son.
Gabriel appeared to Joseph in a dream to tell him Mary would have Baby Jesus.

Mary and Joseph traveled very far to Bethlehem.
When they became tired they stopped at an inn to ask an innkeeper if he had room for them. The innkeeper said he had no room but a stable they could they stay in if they wanted.
The shepherds were taking care of their sheep on Christmas night.
A heavenly host of angels shared the good news of Baby Jesus being born to the shepherds.

A star shone above the stable where baby Jesus was born. This star announced the birth of baby Jesus.

So many people wanted to honor and praise Christ. Wise Men followed the star to find Jesus. They brought Jesus gifts.

We really enjoyed acting out the birth of Baby Jesus. After acting out the story we sang a Christmas finger play.... the children loved it. Ask them to say it for you. The words are below:

Clop, clop, clop went the donkeys feet( pat hands on knees),
Clop, clop, clop down the stoney street.
Nod, nod, nod went Mary's head (nod head back and fourth),
She was so tired she needed a bed ( rest head on cupped hands).
Knock,  knock, knock went Joseph at the door ( knock knuckle on palm of hands).
Do you have room for anymore?
No, no, no the innkeeper said (shake head no while pointing finger)....
We don't even have one more bed( hold the number one up with your finger).
Wait, Wait, Wait the innkeeper said,
You can use my stable for a bed ( make stable above head with arms and hands) .
Shhh, Shhh, shhh...What is that I hear (make shhhhing sound with finger on lips)?
The cry of Baby Jesus, Oh so Dear (rock arms pretending to hold a baby)!

This finger play is a great way to talk about the birth of Christ and true meaning of Christmas. Say this finger play with your child this Christmas season.
