Gingerbread Man: Thursday

We started our morning free play this morning building a gingerbread house in the block area. We did a great job working together this morning. Way to go, Friends!

                                                      Having Fun outside before chapel!

Heading to God's house for chapel.

Pastor Rouland led chapel this morning.

During chapel we turned out the lights and looked for all the different burning candle flames in the church.

We helped identify all the different candles in the church. Pastor Rouland taught us that the flames from the candles symbolize that God is with us. Next time you are at church with your family ask your child what the burning candle means.

Our offering helper bringing the offering up to the altar.

Our alphabet helper leading us in the letter sounds song!
Our calendar helper counting the three days of December!
Our meteorologist predicted a sunny and windy day.

At circle time we prepared for a hunt to find the gingerbread man.

The gingerbread man left us several clues of the different locations he was planning on visiting at the school.

Clue #1 said, "I didn't want to be a snack. I bet you'll never get me back! Now, you must go and look, where there are lots and lots of books."
We found clue #2 in our book area. Clue #2 read, "Ha,Ha, he, he. You can't catch me! I got an ouchie...Find me in the place to get a bandaid."

Soo off to the office we headed....

Along the way we asked some teachers and friends if they had seen the gingerbread man.  Some classrooms said they didn't see the gingerbread man while others saw him run down the hall.
We ran into our principal, Mr. Debrick and he told us that it was the biggest gingerbread cookie he had ever seen! You should have seen some of our friends' eyes light up when they heard how big the gingerbread man was :)

We made it to the office to find our next clue. Clue #3 read, "You were fast, but not fast enough. I am at a place where I can swing and slide."

We decided to head to the big playground and see if that sneaky gingerbread was hiding outside.

We didn't have any luck outside but when we walked in the door we found clue #4 .  It read, "You missed me again! But, I'm getting hungry...meet me in a place where we can fill our tummies!"

Sooo we headed to the lunch room in hopes of FINALLY catching the quick little cookie!

The lunch ladies saw the gingerbread man. Mrs. Pam gave us clue #5  which said, "You are getting   close, keep trying! I am on top of a place where your teacher keeps papers!"

We decided to head back to the classroom and see if the gingerbread man was really on the desk in our classroom.

We decided we had to be super quiet to catch him...  we tip toed back to our room as quietly as possible. I was pretty impressed with the silence :)

We even crawled back to the carpet because we wanted to sneak up on that cookie.

We checked the desk and were SURPRISED to find a stuffed stocking with our very last note from the gingerbread man!

This note read, "Ha, ha, he he...You can't catch me, but I left you some of my friends as a yummy treat!"
Each child received a gingerbread cookie from the stocking!

We loved our yummy cookies.... they were a perfect way to end our hunt.

Our friends had a blast on the gingerbread man hunt.... guess we will be on the lookout for that big cookie still. But, in the meantime look for the gingerbread man at home too!
