Gingerbread Man: Tuesday

Bundled up and having fun outside!

Our friend shared some special items she found in San Francisco on the beach.

At morning message we learned that we are starting a new month today. Here is our calendar helper counting the 1st day in December.
The meteorologist said it was going to be a sunny and windy day!

At circle time we played, Where is the Gingerbread Man? using positional words!

We then read a book called, Where is the Gingerbread Man ? The book used all the positional words we identified in our game.

We started making our own, Where is the Gingerbread Man? books....this is a great interactive take home activity to read with your child through the Christmas season.  The story requires your child to move the gingerbread man different locations throughout the story. The kids love it :)
Check in your child's backpack to find this fun book!

                                                      Baking cookies in the kitchen.

Working together to build a boat in the block area.
We also "decorated" gingerbread cookies at centers.
We had fun discussing the true meaning of Christmas and when Jesus' birthday is during our December interviews.

Working hard on a Christmas matching game.

We held a Christmas cookie party in dramatic play after we 'baked" several cookies.

We also practiced our Christmas songs for the program. The lyrics to the songs are being sent home today. Please practice these songs with your child at home!
