Gingerbread Man: Wednesday

Morning Free Play

Thank you to Connor and his family for the new play dough! We had fun making play dough cookies with our christmas cookie cutters.

At morning message we discussed how it was going to be an oops day with a different schedule and slightly earlier lunch. The kids did great with the different schedule!
Our alphabet helper leading us in sing the abc's. We also sang our letter sound song in a opera voice...we thought this was pretty silly!
Our calendar helper leading us in counting the 2 days of December!

Our meteorologist predicted a cold and sunny day.

Having Fun outside with our friends!

We performed a gingerbread man science experiment today with a gingerbread cookie and water!

To start the experiment we explored a dry gingerbread cookie and drew a picture of the gingerbread cookie before he got wet.

We then predicted what we thought would happen to the gingerbread man when he was immersed in water .

We predicted several outcomes. Some of us thought he would stay the same, others thought he would disappear, and some of us even predicted that the cookie would break into little pieces.

We then drew what we predicted was going to happen to the gingerbread man in the water.

Then it was time to immerse the gingerbread man into the water. We counted down from 10, 9, 8, etc....

Check out our result!

We were very surprised to discover that when a gingerbread cookie gets wet it breaks into small pieces and dissolves.

Ask your child about the experiment and what happened to the gingerbread man when he was dropped in water?

We drew the results of the experiment too!

At Jesus time we talked about the news that the Angel Gabriel shared with Mary.

We then went on to act out Gabriel telling Mary she would have Baby Jesus with our nativity figurines! Ask your child how Mary felt when she heard the news :)
