Firefighters and Thanksgiving

Delaney and Family, Thank you so much for the new play dough .... We had so much fun playing with it today!

We decided to build a  ladder in the block area this morning.

                                                                      Snack Time!

At morning message we talked about how we were going to explore the differences between hot and cold today.
                                                             Our calendar helper
                                                          The meteorologist for the day
Our friend leading us in singing the alphabet song.
At circle we explored the difference between hot and cold. We each held a block of ice cubes and described what it felt like.

We also brainstormed other things that are cold.

We said snow,  popsicles, ice cream and frozen food were all cold like the ice cube.

We then took turns feeling a warm mug of  hot water.

We talked about how the warm mug felt and then discussed items that are hot! We decided that hot chocolate, fire, and oven, iron and soup were all hot items.

After exploring and comparing the hot and cold objects  we went on to talk further about what hot items are not safe to touch. We said that an iron , oven,  stove and fire were not items safe to touch with our bodies.

We gave a thumbs up for safe items and thumbs down for unsafe items.

We drove a fire truck with friends at centers time!

We continued with our November interviews too. Some topics we covered in our interview included our name, age, friends we play with and what our favorite bible story is.

We started to make our table cloths for our Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast.

We are making a hand printed turkey table cloth...our friends were very excited to have their hands painted by Mrs. Cruz.

At Jesus time we read the bible story of the Bronze Snake. We then went on to talk about trusting in God . I reminded my friends that if they are sad, worried or scared to pray and put our trust in God.
