Fairytales: Thursday

Today at morning message we talked more about feelings and different reasons for why people might be sad or happy!

Our calendar helper leading us in counting the seven days of January.

Our meteorologist predicted a cloudy day.

At circle time we learned about the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
We found a letter from the giant saying, "Fi, Fie,Fo, Fum...Find your name for Jack's beanstalk!"

We each took turns finding our first and last name to add to our name beanstalk.
We sang this song to the tune of Mary had a little lamb....If your name begins with the letter____ find your name!

We then took turns climbing up the beanstalk to walk into our Jack and the Beanstalk centers!

We worked on our fine motor skills at centers by making fruit loop beanstalks.
We strung fruit loops on spaghetti noodles. Our play dough base helped us keep the beanstalk from falling over until the very end just like the story!
This is an easy and fun activity you could  do at home with your child. You can also use cheerios!
We also worked on counting one to one and identifying and writing numbers with a Beanstalk game.

At Jesus time we talked more about Jesus raising Jairus' daughter from the dead. We read a poem about the events of the story and my friends said this chant, "Keep going Jesus...Go, Go, Go" throughout the poem . We ended Jesus time singing, My God is so Great!
