Fairytales Week 2: Monday

This morning some of our older friends started working on writing our name using upper and lowercase letters.

Having fun dressing up in princess/prince accessories while playing a game working on numbers.

Building a castle at the light table.

Working together to build a house. Look how proud we are :)

Getting our wiggles out in the commons on this cold morning.

We read the Hat and then shared what we did on the snowy Saturday we had over the weekend!

Our morning message reminded us to focus our attention on friends or teachers to help us figure out how they are feeling.

We sang our letter sounds song in an opera voice. I told them to check out the fun Leterella game. This game works on making letter sounds.  Check the link out to play this fun game with your child!

Our calendar helper for the day
Our meteorologist predicted a sunny day.  His friends agreed and said that even though it was sunny it was going to be a cold day.

We did some stretches before our mat man circle!

We identified big/ little lines as well as big/little curves before building mat man!

We also identified different lines and curves that are used to help us build/write lowercase letters since some of our older friends are starting to use them when writing their name.

Each friend did a good job listening for what line, curve or body part they had to build mat man.

We gave mat man a crown this month. We thought it was only fitting since we are talking about fairytales!
We then went ahead and moved to the tables to draw our individual mat man for the month of January!

Everyone worked so hard drawing such detailed mat men.

Our younger friends were even doing an amazing job drawing their mat man. I was very proud of everyone. Way to go, Friends!
