Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: Tuesday

Today our morning message was God wants us to take care of the world he created for us.

                                                          Exploring in the science area.

Building on the light table with straws. Children flourish in an environment where they can directly act on objects and interact with people.  Working together to build on the light table is working on s.t.e.a.m (science, technology, engineering, art and math) skills.

Friends relaxing in the reading area

We did wonderful at our first chapel of the year. We were thrilled to go to God's house and praise him. During Chapel this year the children will be learning that Jesus is their friend and Savior!

The older kids came to teach us our theme song for the year. We really enjoyed singing                          with the older kids.
Bringing our offering up to the altar.
Singing our Alphabet song this morning.
At circle time we watched Chicka Chicka Boom Boom on the smart board
Making coconut trees at centers time.
During this activity they are using fine motor skills with purpose and control but also using symbolic development while creating their individual trees.
We really enjoyed adding the letters to our trees. Ask your child what letters they put on their tree.
Also ask your child to tell you the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom story with their tree. If your child needs prompting ask your child to point to different letters that went up the coconut tree.

Dressing up in tropical gear to celebrate the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom theme!
During dramatic play children are working cooperatively with other children, building relationships of mutual trust and respect with others and exhibiting creativity.

Children acting out letters that went up the coconut tree in the sensory table. During this activity the children are representing feeling and ideas in a variety of ways and expanding their vocabulary.

We are almost finished with our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Class Book. Will there be enough room for Mrs. Medrano's whole class up the coconut tree?
This activity is great because the children have an opportunity to write their page in the class story as a means of expression and communication. Every page is different!
