Fall: Monday

We enjoyed the beautiful fall weather playing outside this morning!

During our morning message we discussed how God forgives families who are being unkind to one another. We mentioned that our bible story of the week( Joseph and his brothers) talked about a family who was  being unkind to their brother.
We also talked about ways we can be kind to our family members.
Our calendar helper counting the five days of October!
Our meteorologist predicted a cloudy and sunny day!
At centers we painted fall leaves on trees.  We used q tips as a different way to paint... using the qtips  as a painting tool helps strengthen our fine more muscles.

We  pinned clothespins on fabric leaves. Our leaves had numbers on them. Our goal was to put the same amount of clothespins as the number on the leaf! This activity strengthens our fine motor muscles but also uses numbers to show quantity.
We  built trees with fall nature items from outside and play dough! This activity helped us explore the physical properties of nature items. It also was a great opportunity for us to exhibit creativity!

We read Five Little Pumpkins and then worked on drawing lines as well as counting with one to one correspondence. The children enjoyed placing pumpkins( circle stickers) on the gates they drew. This activity was a great way to work on counting while using one to one correspondence.

Building trees in the block area

More q tip painting to create colorful fall trees.

Working together in the block area can be so much fun. We create pretty cool creations!

We took pride in putting the five (stickers) pumpkins on our gates. Ask your child to retell you the story about the five little pumpkins tonight!

At Jesus time we learned about Joseph and his brothers.  We retold the story of Joseph using three pieces of colored paper.  Yellow was held up when there was  a happy part or someone was happy in the story. An example of a happy moment in the story was when Joseph was happy because he received a special coat from his father because his father was proud of him.

Red was used to tell parts of the story when Joseph or his brothers were mad. An example was when Joseph received his beautiful coat of colors from his fathers and the other brothers were jealous.
And the  blue paper was used when Joseph or his brothers were sad in the story. A sad part of the story was when Joseph brothers sold him as a slave. There were many happy, mad and sad moments in the story of Joseph. Ask your child  about the story of  Joseph and why him or  his brothers were happy, sad or mad
