Three Little Pigs: Thursday

Working together to build at morning free play.

Today at morning message we talked about how it was a new month and the first day of October ! We also discussed different fall activities people participate in during October.
Our friend leading us in the letter sounds song!

Today at chapel we talked about prayer with Pastor Rouland. We played a fun game where we clapped every time Pastor said prayer, pray or praise.

We also discussed different times we might pray throughout the day. Pastor Rouland shared  pictures of children praying at bedtime and meal time. We went on to talk about other times we can pray to God too.
After praying at dinner time or bed time tonight... have a talk with your child about the importance of prayer!
Our offering helper bringing our class offering up to the altar.

We sang a fall marching song on the way back from chapel.

Enjoying our yummy snack at snack time.

Miss. Kirby's class invited us to join them for a special visitor today. Their classroom invited a firefighter to come teach them about fire safety.
We were excellent listeners during the fireman's visit.
The firefighter came dressed in his fire gear he wears to keep his body safe from the heat!
He talked about how each piece of clothing keeps his body safe.

The firefighter set off an alarm... it was a very loud noise. The firefighter explained that the noise is loud to make sure every hears there is a fire.

The firefighter also showed us his breathing masks he wears in smoke.

He also talked about how if your clothing is on fire you should  stop, drop and roll. He even demonstrated for us!

We made sure to give the firefighter a big thank you. His visit was so much fun and really helped inform us about a firefigther's job as well as fire safety.
Look for a picture in your child's backpack  about their favorite part of the fireman's visit. This picture will be a great way to start a discussion with your child about what they learned from the firefighter!

We watched a special book on the smart board about The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.
This book was from the wolf's point of view. Apparently, all the wolf needed was sugar for his grandma's birthday cake when visiting the three little pigs. He unfortunately had a bad cold and sneezed at every house when he asked the pigs for sugar.
After watching the story we had a discussion about who was telling the truth...The three pigs or the wolf.
We then went on to graphed if our  favorite character was the wolf or the pig.

Our class was very split on who was telling the truth. It was a close vote but the wolf had more votes for being our favorite. I was very surprised with our class' opinion.
