Pumpkins: Monday

At  morning free play we listened to, Down By the Station and pretended to ride on the train, bus, rocket ship, sail boat and airplane in the song.
We decided to sit in chairs for morning message!
At morning message we compared different pumpkins. We came to the conclusion that all pumpkins are different. Some are big, small, round, oblong, green, white, orange, smooth and bumpy.
Our alphabet and letter songs helper leading us in singing!

                                                                    Outside Fun

Our calendar and meteorologist for the day!
At circle we read Perfect Pumpkins! We then made a web of things we know already know about pumpkins. We will also make a web at the end of our pumpkin unit to discuss all we learned about pumpkins.

Pretending to pick pumpkins at the pumpkin patch in dramatic play area.
Selling pumpkins after we pick them. One friend sold me a pumpkin for 16 dollars... they were awfully proud of their pumpkin.

Working on counting play dough pumpkins. After we made the number of pumpkins with play dough for our chart we took the activity a step further and worked on writing the number also.
This activity helps us reach the goal of using numbers to show quantity, using language to represent number of objects and displaying information with charting.

We also started to paint pumpkin masks. We will uses these masks later in the week to act out a fun pumpkin story.

Picking and selling more pumpkins in dramatic play.

Proud friends showing off how they write their numbers!

At Jesus time we learned about God's big plans for Moses. We learned that Moses led the Israelites across the Red Sea. Moses reminded the Israelites along the way to never stop trusting in God. We will learn more about this bible story through out the week.
