Fall:Week 2-Wednesday

                                                         This morning we had chapel.

Miss. Kirby led chapel and talked about the excitement of Halloween approaching.
We talked about how everyone loves sweet candy but Miss. Kirby reminded us that even though candy might be sweet the sweetest gift we will ever receive is  God's love. Miss. Kirby wants us to keep  this in mind with Halloween approaching.

Our morning message today said, "We are going on a Nature Hike!"

Our calendar helper and meteorologist for the day!

At circle we read, We're going on a Nature Hunt. During this story we acted out the different actions the kids performed through their hunt.

During the story we pretended to cross a bridge,  walk through a grassy meadow, climb a tree, row a boat, walk up a steep hill and escape from a beehive!

After reading the story we discussed what different things we might come across on our hike. I told my friends if we used our imagination we might be able to do some of the actions the kids performed .

We also made a list of fall/nature items we wanted to find on our hike!

Here is the list we came up with....

We also identified our names before receiving our bag for the hike.

We pretended our pathway was a bridge like the bridge in our nature hunt book... Clipety, Clop, Clipety Clop!

We made sure to collect colorful leaves.

We worked hard walking up our little 'hill" to collect leaves. The hill wasn't as high as the hill in the story , but it was steep .

During our hike we explored and investigated the characteristics of  living and nonliving things.

We took a  quick break for a class picture.... the sun was shining bright but we still managed to get a few to smile!

Check out the pretty flowers we found.

We also pretended to walk through  a grassy meadow like the kids in the story!

We heard crickets and animal sounds as we passed the woods.

We ended our hike finding dandelions and two butterflies. The hike was such a success!

When we returned to the class we made Fall Wreaths with the items we found from our hike!

We had a great day. The weather was beautiful and our nature hike was so much FUN!
