Friday: Fall

Playing with balls and hula hoops in the commons!

Our morning message today said that tonight was the trunk or treat at school...
We also discussed other fun fall activities we are going to participate in tonight and this weekend!
Our calendar helper counting the nine days of October!
Our meteorologist predicted a cloudy day today!
At circle we read, The Biggest Leaf Pile. We then took turns jumping and rolling into a leaf pile on the carpet!

After everyone took turns jumping and rolling in the leaf pile we decided to work together to make the leaves blow in the wind like they did in the story.
During the story the leaves did somersaults, twirled, twisted and spun around in loops.
We decided to reenact the leaves performing all these motions in the classroom.

We had a fun time and also expanded our vocabulary with the different action words!

Working hard to make trees with play dough and nature items at centers.
We also worked together to make a boat in the block area.
Raking the leaves up on the carpet kept us busy during centers too!
We also talked about Joseph at centers time.

We painted our own coat of colors  like the one Joseph received from his father.

We really took pride in painting our coats. Everyone's coat was filled with color!

Check out how good we look wearing Joseph's coat of many colors!
We enjoyed acting out how Joseph and his brothers felt when Joseph received the coat from his father.
Joseph's brothers were sad and jealous.
But, Joseph was proud and happy to receive the special coat from his father. Each friend will bring home their coat of many colors tonight. Feel free to act out the story with your child at home!
