Fall: Week 2- Tuesday

Practicing writing our name during free play.
                                                           cutting in our cutting pool
At morning message today we discussed how the leaves on the trees are really starting to change colors! Last week we noticed a lot of green leaves but this week the leaves are much more colorful.
Our meteorologist for the day said it was a cold and windy day.
Our calendar helper counting the 13 days of October!
Ms. Julie came and visited us from the Library.
Ms. Julie also brought a friend. Her name was Ms. Christy!
Ms. Julie read us Five Books. Each book was fun and interactive!
The first book was Row, Row, Row your Boat. During this book we identified the characters with picture cards.

The second book was super interactive... The book was titled, This Book Ate My Dog!
Ms. Julie shook the dog out of the book....the kids loved this part of the book.

The third book was pretty SILLY. It was titled, Naked .
The fourth book was titled, Bear Sees Colors,  This book was a rhyming book about the different colors bear sees.

The last book was titled, I'm My Own Dog. The book was about a sassy dog!

After Ms. Julie read all the books we voted which ones were our favorite by standing by the book we liked the most!

Our visit with Ms. Julie was a blast.

At circle we participated in a Fall Sink or Float.

Before the experiment started we explored each item and predicted which items we thought would float and which would sink. Here are our predictions.

We are excited to start the experiment and find out the results.
The rock sunk straight to the bottom.
                                                               The stick floated on top.
                                                           The pumpkin floated also.
The pine cone was another fall item that floated on top of the water.
We counted down from three before dropping each items in the water!

The leaf also floated on top.

And the smooth and bumpy gourds floated!

Here are the results from our sink or float experiment.

Ask your child about the results of the experiment!During this activity we investigated characteristics of living/ nonliving things and also explored the physical world.

Exploring leaves and fall items in the sensory table!

At Jesus time we listened to the story of Baby Moses. We identified if the Israelites and Moses family were happy or sad. Check out our sad faces. Some sad times during the story included when the Israelites became slaves in Egypt and when Pharaoh threatened  to kill all baby boys that were Israelites. This was very sad but don't worry the story gets happy!

Here are our happy faces...some happy moments were when Baby Moses was born, when the princess asked Moses' mom to raise him which kept him safe from Pharaoh and the big plans God had for Moses when he gets older.

We go through sad and happy times also but we always need to remember to trust in God because he has a plan for each one of us!
