Pumpkins: Week 2-Thursday

Today at morning message we practiced following directions with starting and stopping as we walked around the carpet.

Our morning message said, "God is Good!"
Our helper leading us in singing the alphabet and letter sounds song.

Having fun outside in the crisp and cool weather!

Our calendar helper leading us in counting the 29 days of October!
Our meteorologist predicted a windy, sunny and cold day.

At circle time we read Dr. Seuss' ABC Book before our alphabet trick or treat.

After the story we each took a turn trick or treating. During this activity we were working on practicing our manners, self regulation and letter/ letter sound recognition.
We all knocked on the "door". ..
Made sure to say thank you after we picked our letter...
And identified the letter and a word that starts with the letter we picked.

We loved playing the ABC trick or treat game amongst ourselves at centers too.

We also worked on counting one to one playing our Monster Math. During this game we rolled a number and used this number to give our monster that amount of eyes. This activity helps us learn that numbers show quantity.

We continued to working on writing our names/ words for the month of October.

Building together in the block area.

After putting eyes on our monsters we took the activity a step further and wrote the number we rolled.

We also built and wrote the letter p at centers. This activity strengthens our fine motor muscles.

At Jesus time we talked about how God was so Good to the Israelites . We used the number 1,2,3 to discuss the different ways God protected and provided for the Israelites in the desert.

After discussing how God provided for the Israelites we then took turns talking about how God is Good to us and provides for us. Each friend took a turn holding the bible and sharing why they think God is So Good.
A lot of our friends mentioned that God gave them their body parts, food and our families.
