Three Little Pigs: Friday

Today at morning message we learned that God wants us to forgive and love one another.

Our helpers leading us in the  alphabet and letter sounds song!

We listened to down by the station and pretended to board a train as we headed outside this morning!

It was a chilly morning outside but the kids didn't seem to mind!

                                                                    Our calendar helper
Our meteorologist predicted a cold and windy day today.
At circle we read Our Class Huff and Puff Book!

After reading the class story we all took turns playing a game to see how far we could blow a pom pom.

We huffed and puffed and watched the pom moms move!
We were able to blow a small, medium and large pom pom.

The large pom poms were quite a challenge to move.

We noticed that the small pom pom seemed to move the easiest.
This activity helped us explore the idea that objects can be manipulated and changed. It also allowed us to use measurement as well as make comparisons!
We measured each friend's farthest pom pom length.
At centers we built houses with toothpicks and spice drops.
We were very determined and focused when building our houses! Each friend designed their house differently.

After we built our house we counted how many gum drops we used.

I think the sugar made us a little silly... thank goodness it's Friday!: )

After building houses we sorted the spice drops by color or made patterns!

We achieved so many learning goals during this project. We worked on geometry and spatial awareness while exploring shapes as well as  investigating positions and locations.  We also made comparisons and created patterns.

We played a transportation game to kick off Jesus time. We moved our bodies to act like a plane, train, car, boat, etc. We then talked about how Jacob traveled to a faraway land and had no mode of transportation except walking. We discussed the hardships he might of dealt with while traveling so far. We also discussed how God kept him safe and was with him throughout his whole journey. We were reminded that God is with us during all our journeys in life also.

After talking about Jacob we played a game with different scenarios. When the friend in the story was kind we hugged one another but when they friend in the story was unkind we stepped away from  one another.

This Jesus time was a great reminder to show unconditional love to our friends and family!
