Apples: Week 2-Tuesday

It was a BUSY day in preschool!

We enjoyed catching up with another this morning and playing with our friends at morning free play!

Our Morning Message today stated God wants us to welcome new friends. We talked a little deeper about how God wants us to be kind and welcoming to one another.

Outside Fun... We had lots of energy today so it was nice spending some time outside to get some extra wiggles out!

Our calendar and meteorologist helper for the day!

At circle we learned about the lifecycle of an apple. We learned that apple seeds need to be planted for an apple seed to grow. We also learned that apple trees are very thirsty in the spring. Once apple trees receive plenty of water they grow flowers( blossoms) on the tree that eventually turn into tiny apples. Once the apples become bigger and ripe they are ready to be picked.
Each child made a chart of the life cycle of an apple. Ask your child to show you the different pictures on their apple chart. Ask them questions about each picture. This will help prompt your child to discuss all they know about the life cycle of an apple.

Some questions you can ask your child are: Why are apple trees thirsty? What are the flowers on  apple trees called? What do the flowers on the apple trees eventually turn into?  How do we know when an apple is ready to be picked?

All my friends were thrilled to show off their apple life cycle chart.
We also participated in September all about me interviews. The kids loved taking turns with the microphone and having an interview with the teacher. They all felt very special. We will have interviews every month. This activity is great for communicating our feeling and ideas. It also is a fun way to use language to communicate and  expand our vocabulary

Cutting straws in the sensory table.

At Jesus time we learned about Noah's Ark. We discussed that Noah trusted in God and built an ark for his family and two of every animal on the earth. We also talked about how it rained for forty days and forty nights but God kept Noah, his family and the animals safe!
