Farm: Week 2-Tuesday

                                                                    Morning Free Play

Building a "gate" around our friend!

Our morning message read, "Ask for help when you need it!"We further discussed the importance of using our words and finding help from friends or teacher throughout the school day we need help.

                                                    Singing the letter sounds song.

We had a fun morning playing outside!

We had the opportunity to watch the older kids launch rockets outside. It was very exciting!

At circle time we read Big Red Barn. We then played a beginning sound/ rhyming game while  to help us guess the different animals in the barn.

I wonder what's in the big red barn. I wonder what's in it for me. It starts with____ and rhymes with ____. Oh what do you think it could be?

This activity helps us attend to sounds in language, applies early reading skills and and uses concepts of print.

Here are some of the different animals we identified: goose( starts with g and rhymes with loose), duck( starts with d and rhymes with luck) , sheep( starts with sh and rhymes with beep), cat (starts with c and rhymes with hat), dog( starts with d and rhymes with log) and mouse( starts with m and rhymes with house). We identified other farm animals too !Use these clues again to help your child remember the farm animals we found in our barn.

Building big red barns in the block area  at centers time.

We also had fun painting boxes into big red barns!

We played farm bingo. Mrs. Medrano gave us clues about different farm animals, plants and equipment used on the farm. We had to identify different traits of farm pictures before placing a bean on the picture.
This bingo activity helped us expand our vocabulary. The clues deepened our knowledge/schemata about different items we find on the farm.

Exploring in the sensory table with our big red barns and farm animals!

We were determined to cover all our boxes with plenty of red paint!

We acted out the story of Abraham, Sarah and Isaac.  God promised Abraham that his family would be as abundant as the stars in the sky.
Years later angels came to Abraham and Sarah's house.

When they were eating dinner the Lord appeared and told Abraham and Sarah they were going to have a baby.
Abraham and Sarah laughed because they were very old...Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90.
One year later Sarah and Abraham had a baby and named them Isaac.

Abraham and Sarah celebrated. They thanked God for their baby boy.
Hooray for the promises God makes to us. God always keeps his promises!
