Farm: Thursday

Working together in the block area this morning!

Our morning message stated that God wants us to work together!

We also discussed how it is important to use our listening rules at school.

We all sat super quietly at morning message and listened for sounds we heard in the building.
We really enjoyed identifying the sounds we heard. Some of these sounds included other classrooms and teachers talking and foot steps. Try sitting quietly at home for a minute and discuss the sounds your hear after!

                                                          Our number and letter helper!

We enjoyed spending time outside this morning.

Our calendar helper and meteorolgist for the day!

At circle we watched the story of Mrs. Wishy Washy on the smart board!

After the story we all took turns acting out Mrs. Wishy Washy.

The children had so much fun....they all pretended to get dirty in a mud pile on the farm.

Some of the children rolled in the mud like the pig in the story.

Others pretended to jump in the mud like the cow!

One friend flapped his wings like the duck in the story.

After each friend got a turn in the mud pile... they were all dirty.

Mrs. Wishy Washy( Mrs. Medrano) then said, "Oh My....We must go in the tub for a bath!"

Each friend had to be cleaned.... Wishy, Washy, Wishy ,Washy, Wishy ,Washy !

At centers we took turns acting out the story with a group of friends. When acting out a story the children working cooperatively with one another, exhibiting creativity, demonstrating confidence, expanding their vocabulary and using writing and using symbolic development!

We also washed different farm animals like Mrs. Wishy Washy!

We had the opportunity to explore mud at centers too!

In the story the animals described the mud as lovely. Some words we used to describe mud included squishy, wet, brown, gooey , soft and fun! Ask your child what the mud felt like! This activity is a great way to represent our ideas in a variety of ways. We are also expanding our vocabulary as well as using concepts of print and using writing as a means of expression.

Measuring the different farm animals in the block area!

When we explored the mud we were exploring the physical world and how objects and materials can be manipulated and changed!

We also were investigating and exploring the physical properties of mud.

We couldn't get enough of acting out Mrs. Wishy Washy! Ask your child at home tonight to act out the story of Mrs. Wishy Washy. You can join in on the fun too: )

Exploring magnets in the science area.

At Jesus time we learned a song about working together.  We discussed how God wants us to work together. When we work together and remember to ask God for help we can do amazing things.
We also reminded each other about how important it is to thank God when we do amazing things.
