Three Little Pigs: Monday

Today at morning message we learned that God is always with us!

We sang the letter sounds song in a big bad wolf voice....it was pretty entertaining: )

Gross Motor Fun in the Commons!

At snack time we sang our happy hearts prayer. Ask your child to sing this prayer tonight with you at dinner! The class loves this prayer: )
Calendar helper leading us in counting the 28 days of September!
Our meteorologist predicted a sunny day today! Our meteorologist's job was a little tricky since the weather couldn't decide what it wanted to do all day... we observed rain, clouds and sun!
At circle time we heard the story of the Three Little Pigs with stick puppets. Ask your child about the houses the three little pigs built and what house kept the big bad wolf out!

At centers we acted out a puppet show about the three little pigs. The children did a great job telling the story and putting the scenes of the story in the correct sequence. They also did awesome taking turns with the different puppets and acting out the various roles!
We also built the three little pigs' houses with toothpicks, popsicle sticks  and straws.

We are working on making a Huff and Puff Class Book this week. Each friend will create their own huff/puff page by blowing air through a straw to create a colorful painting.
The children had fun watching the different colors blend to create new colors. Each's friends page is going to be unique....I can't wait to see the end result.

Working together to build a brick house to keep the big bad wolf out!

We also worked on building and writing the letter L at centers.

Making vegetable soup in the sensory table with the "crops" we harvested last week!

At Jesus time we learned that Isaac had two twin sons named Jacob and Essau. We learned that Jacob tricked his father Isaac to receive a special blessing. Jacob was ashamed of what he did and left his parents house. Jacob was afraid when he left his parent's house. God forgave Jacob, however, and said he would always be with Jacob. This Jesus story teaches us about God's uncondional love.
We also learned that Jacob had a dream about climbing the ladder when he was away. This dream reminded him that God would always be with him and keep him safe.
We all took turns acting out Jacob's dream of climbing the ladder. We were also reminded that God is always with us too!
